Beema~Maheen mosque Near Sagumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala ,South India

It is said that if you pray at the Beema Maheen Mosque Dargah, your wishes willbe full filled

Bimapalli Dargah is a pilgrimage center visited by devotees of all religions.  The dargah is named after Syedunnisa Bima Beevi, who used to heal the sick in the area.Legend has it that Syedunnisa Bima Beevi and her son Syed Shuhada Maheen Abu Bakr came to India from Arabia for Islamic instruction.  Believers believe that they are descendants of Prophet Muhammad .  Hailing from a family of hakims (traditional healers), the mother-son duo became popular for their treatment of patients and their generous nature.Over time, many people embraced Islam through their testimony and settled near where they lived.  The growing popularity of the Bima Bivi led to jealousy among the local priests, who prompted the king here to impose heavy taxes on them.  When Maheen Abubakar refused to pay the extra tax, a fight ensued which resulted in his death.  The grief caused by the death of her son soon led to the death of Beema Beevi.

Since their bodies were cremated in the home grounds, the devotees have witnessed miraculous experiences.  A well-known incident among the faithful is the healing power after drinking water from two wells said to have existed during the time of Beevi.  Even today that well is known as medicine well.  A large number of devotees cure their ailments with medicinal water. Hot water is available from one of the wells and cold water from the other, both of which are said to never dry up even in harsh summers.  Historians say that the initial maqbara (maqbara) of Bima Bewi and her son predates the mosque, which may have been built in the 15th-16th centuries.Bimapalli is one of the oldest churches in Thiruvananthapuram.  But there is no proper record of the history of the mosque anywhere.  The specialty of the mosque is that it attracts people of all religions.  Strongly influenced by Indo-Saracenic architecture, the mosque took 17 years to complete.
