📌Global Aftershocks Rattle the Capital City📌

The instability emerging in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most vital maritime trade routes, has not only disrupted the global economy but has also cast a deep shadow of concern over our capital city.

​Key Impacts:

• ​Energy Crisis: With one-third of the world’s total petroleum exports passing through this route, disruptions have significantly impacted fuel prices and the availability of cooking gas. The repercussions are now visible in the daily lives of people in Ananthapuri (Thiruvananthapuram).
• ​Crisis in Technopark: The crisis is most acutely felt in our Technopark, which is also a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Due to the disrupted supply of gas cylinders, several food courts within Technopark have been forced to shut down. This has placed thousands of software developers and project managers, who have arrived here from various states and foreign countries, in great distress.
• ​Power Outages and Work-from-Home: Unexpected power cuts have hindered those working from home for Technopark companies, leading to potential loss of productive hours and salary deductions.
• ​Rising Costs: Delays in maritime freight and a massive hike in shipping insurance premiums have doubled freight charges. This is driving a surge in the prices of essential commodities, burning a hole in the pocket of the common man.
