In the Holy Month of Ramadan, those fasting should refrain from engaging in any forbidden (Haram) activities. It is customary for individuals aged seven and above to observe fasting. Fasting alone is not sufficient; engaging in prayers and devotions during Ramadan is also essential. Fasting does not merely mean subjecting the body and stomach to hardship. It does not mean engaging in activities that exacerbate illness. It does not mean spitting excessively to show others that you are not even swallowing saliva to prove you are fasting. Before the commencement of Ramadan, it is the primary duty of every Muslim to thoroughly clean and purify their homes and surroundings.
2️⃣Before sunrise, you may begin your fast with prayers, consuming simple foods such as biscuits, rusks, tea, or any other stomach-friendly options. The Fajr (dawn) prayer is essential. Every Muslim should engage in Dhikr and prayers until sunrise. Here, too, prayer is paramount. Maintaining the purity of the mind, body, tongue, and ears is also a fundamental duty. Those who are ill, traveling, or unable to alleviate pain without medication should avoid taking risks during this time. Exacerbating illnesses and ending up in the hospital will only cause trouble for you and your family. There are many other virtuous deeds to perform during Ramadan. Control your tongue, body, and mind, avoiding lies, slander, and gossip, and engage in peaceful prayers and devotions. Purify your tongue, mind, and actions, and remain in constant prayer. Those who waste time watching mind-corrupting TV serials and then claim to be fasting should take special note of this. What can be said about those who sleep away the daylight hours of Ramadan or waste time excessively on mobile phones? It is advisable to spend Ramadan in prayer, charity, and good deeds. You may have noticed that the Almighty promptly administers punishment to those who fail to do so, even before the end of Ramadan. What is the point of weeping and lamenting after experiencing hardship?
3️⃣ Visit estranged relatives and siblings, reconcile with them, and foster goodwill. Such visits are akin to seeking forgiveness. Remember that these acts are as rewarding as fasting. Break your fast with evening prayers when the sun sets.
Consume light foods and beverages for Iftar (breaking the fast).
After Iftar, everyone consumes their usual meals. It is now well-known that consuming heavy foods can lead to stomach and health problems. ⭐ It is a highly virtuous and rewarding act to invite those who have fasted, provide them with food and drinks for Iftar, offer them opportunities for prayer, and send them off with joy.
This is not based on hearsay from ill-informed individuals in mosques, word-of-mouth, or content from newspapers, WhatsApp, or Facebook.
